She is quiet and proper, as a Geisha should always be, but in trusted companionship she can be her own woman. She is a loyal friend, and devoted to both her craft, and her family. She is easy to talk to, and often finds the brighter side of most bad situations. Her clients admire both her poise, and her free way of speaking at times that makes her so mysterious. She is like two creatures, both everyday woman, and elegant Geisha. Her mother and father still live to this day, and though they have no full and complete say over what she does, being grown, she still takes their wisdom in high regard. Often she takes in friends to call her own, but never does she share her bed. Aside from her rise from Maiko to Geisha she saves herself for the one who one day will call himself her Dana. And her morals are strong. She can't be swayed when her mind is set, and in this way she truely is a willful and suborn mare.
Some are made geisha by chance, or fate. Others are born to it. Such it was with a foal named Suyo. Her mother had been a Geisha before her, and when Koji Kudoh took her mother Kaori as Dana, he made her his wife. Kaori remained geisha only in name, and began to teach the younger mares. Till the day her daughter was born. To honor her Okiya she knew from the start that her daughter would follow in her hoof prints. And so from her youth, Suyo was trained. She neither disdained, or relished her place in life, but took to it as a person who is resigned to their fate does. Because of her mother's standings in both the Okiya, being it's adopted daughter, and her standing in the community, Suyo from the start was well received, and from her debut was already destined for greatness. It was so, and before long she worked her way from Maiko to true Geisha, selling her mizuage to a wealthy general. She continued her lot in life, succeeding as all expected of her, forever keeping secret her desires for a quiet life she could call her own. She steals moments of it, to be alone in the world, or to spend time with those of her own choosing. With her grand acclaim, no one dares question her on these little ventures, and always she returns to her Okiya in good time. Her mother, no longer acting as active Geisha, does not fully approve of her daughter's free thinking ways but also, in some since, is glad that she has that opportunity. An opportunity she herself had never been granted.
Gami: A girl I met one day at the market. She's gentle and caring, and has an most unusual talent. Gifted by a sovereign dragon, Gami can make everyday paper become living breathing creatures through her Origami. Her body is brightly tattooed in glorious artwork, and she is a delight to spend time with, and has thus become my most cherished friend. Her resent taking to a western pirate worries me some, but I trust her judgment.
