~Tale of Vampires~
In the beginning, all creatures were created equal. All were friends, all were kind, all ate things from the earth, and not from each other, but one day, all of that changed, starting with 2 wolves.
Two Brothers, the first a black wolf named Ezekial, and the other a pale blue named Azreal, lived together in the grassy plains of the world. All seemed well and good, until Athenia entered their lives. A white wolfess, a beautiful one at that, came to their lands one night. Both brothers immediately fell madly in love with her, but, to his dismay, she favored Ezekial for his kind heart and words. Azreal was not as sweet as his younger sibling, and this was soon put to test, when the two lovers were to marry. In a fit of rage, that night Azreal did the unthinkable. He came to his brothers cave, and slaughtered him in cold blood, blood which soon after he devoured heartlessly. Then, to prove further that his anger would not rest, he slew the fem as well, too enjoying her crimson wine. When the rest of the pack saw what Azreal had done, they cast him away. But first they branded him with a "dark Mark" you could say. A bleeding dagger, burned into his flesh to forever remind him of his sin. He left that day, alone and hungry. But that didn't last long. He soon decided that the murders were not just for revenge. He had enjoyed it, lavished it even, and he wanted more. So from that day on, he only drank blood. To him is was healing his loss, drinking the very thing that had pumped the wenches heart towards his brother and not him. And slowly, he began to gain followers, others who felt as he did. Unfortunately, a Sorceror equine, by the name of Maharet Mayfair too caught wind of this wrong doing, and insisted he take a hand in it.
Azreal chose Haret's sister as pray one night, and the stallion didn't take this lightly, through his fury and hate, he spoke to him in whispered words. "Enjoy the feel of blood upon your tongue so much? Then ever shall you dine upon it, and only. And forever shall you live with your grief and guilt..." he hissed, and cast his dark spell. At first he thought nothing had changed, as the dark sprite disappeared, but the effect soon took hold. Once, when he felt that blood had lost it's luster for him, he tried to feast upon the flesh, and was immediately, violently sick. He knew at once what had happened. Now he was forever bound to feast upon blood ONLY and nothing more. So when kill became scarce, he had nowhere to turn to. And as the years grew longer, the other half of her curse became clear. He never aged. He'd reached the age of wolven maturity, and was remaining as such, no matter how old he felt. It seemed that he would forever remain in his sorry state, but, as often happens, he one day found a female willing to have him. They bore many pups together, and all but the females somehow bore that binding mark apon the shoulder, and all, held their fathers curse. Years passed, and the family grew and grew, till many "vampire" wolves roamed the earth, and so it remains to this day. As for Azreal, no one knows what became of him, he disapeared one day, never to be seen again.... But, the curse did not only effect the children of Azreal, but the creatures he dined upon. If he drank, but did not slay the creature, it would become as he, a blood thristy beast, be it cat or goat or any creature fed upon. So now the world is filled with vampire creatures, darkness their home, and our blood their only sustenance.

~My Tale~
I was unfortunate indeed.....I was a simple stallion, I lived within the woods, alone and content as thus. But as I was alone, and had no home to speak of, that left me open to the elements, and sickness soon took hold of me. I grew so ill that I couldn't even feed myself anymore and so I lay waiting for death. I did not fear it, it was just another part of life, a part I'll never know for in the night, I was taken to everlasting life. A wolf, but not normal, attacked me, saw my weakened position and pressed his fangs into my flesh, draining my blood like poison from a wound. But then, as I was about to close my eyes and rest, he stopped and looked down at me. "You shall come with me stallion...I will save you from all of this." he replied. My gaze was murky, my ears ringing, but I understood him, and something in me made my legs tremble into motion and pulled me to my hooves. How I hated not dying, but the wolf's pull on me was unstoppable...I followed him indeed, to a cave where I passed out. The next night I awoke with an insatiable need for the very same that had been taken from me...blood. How I hate you Dante, lord of the dark, my now and forever master.....I wish only for rest....
